Blog 1: Incorporate, Bulldoze, and Re-landscape
|
|
Many urban areas in major U.S. cities have hundreds of abandoned residential and commerical structures. An effort should be put forth to bulldoze those buildings making the land available for fuel crops such as corn and other foods for human consumption. Grant money is available. There are millions of persons of working age collecting government checks perfectly capable of staffing the effort. We must restructure our urban landscapes with man-made lakes, new residences, parks, and fields of produce and grain. Lets present and implement a pilot plan in one of our major cities and use the lessons learned from it to create a model that can be leveraged in cities across the U.S. The entity that does the work (of bulldozing and re-landscaping) could be a corporation owned and operated by urban residents themselves. The profits could be shared among the shareholders, citizens, and employees of the corporation. The company could serve the city and it's citizens by improving the neighborhoods and putting thousands of people to work for decades to come. Robert Dahmen |
