Exercise not Working?

The success of weight-loss and muscle-gain campaigns will be determined by what occurs BEFORE and AFTER the exercise sessions. While proper nutrition is the most essential (and ironically often overlooked) variable in an exercise program, we must also know if the digestive and other internal organs are functioning properly before beginning an exercise program.

What some personal trainers and TV ads fail to explain is that exercise does little good for a body that continues to have poisons and dead foods put in it. Those who are led to believe a mere exercise machine is what stands between them and the body they want, are being set up for failure. After months of discomfort and inconvenient trips to the gym and seeing little or no results, they give up. It’s heartbreaking. Exercise should not make one feel worse, but that’s precisely what happens if the body is full of poisons and toxicity. Toxicity can even come from being mistreated. Too Much Exercise?
Around 1990, on my way home from a gym in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, I stopped at a health food store on Ford Road just east of Telegraph. I had a chance conversation with one of the employees there (I believe it was the owner) telling him I was weight-lifting 5 days a week and not seeing the expected results. He looked directly at me and told me I was over-training! At first I thought he was guessing, but decided to take his advice and give each muscle group I worked at least 5-days rest before hitting it again, and it worked. The tactic was contrary to those I had seen or heard of and I became more suspicious of the periodicals for sale at the local gym. Of course, cardio and yoga-type exercise would not require such wait times between sessions. The larger point here is, the body needs rest as much as it needs exercise.

People choose their food, pleasures, and pastimes according to their state of consciousness. People whose consciousness is extremely physical and material have the mass or herd instinct. Anything out of the ordinary and which is beyond their comprehension, is idiotic or crazy .. – all proof to the contrary notwithstanding.
